Breath: the gift in the pause between the exhale and the next inhale

Observe your breath.

There is a pause after you exhale, before you next inhale. During that pause, you're not breathing.

Watch this cycle for two or three breaths. During that pause, do you feel nervous, as if you might never breathe again? When you inhale, do you feel relieved?

This pause is a reminder of death, that death is eventually coming to everything that lives. By contemplating the pause, you can treasure the now.

Even when you're not aware of it, you are still breathing as long as you are alive. Breathing is a gift that you always have, as long as you are alive.

Even when you're not aware of it, you are always loved and guided.

We are with you even when you can't sense us. Don't feel anxious. Keep breathing.
