ProphecyToday's message is about the gift of prophecy.

In the Bible, prophecy was seen as a skill that many people had. In Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, he writes, "Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy... (E)veryone who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort." (14: 1, 3)

Prophecy isn't necessarily about foretelling the future. The etymology of the word "prophecy" connects it directly to the word "profess," meaning "to say what I believe."

When we speak of prophecy, we mean "telling the good news." It is simply another way for someone to share messages from Spirit. Prophecy can illuminate with insight into a present situation or even explain a past circumstance.

When Spirit moves you to communicate with a friend, it would be good for both of you to have that conversation, even if the topic seems difficult. Sometimes it is only through the words of another that a person can grasp the truth.

Before you give anyone advice, search your soul. Check your ego, and examine your own agendas. It is far safer to hold your tongue than to tell someone else how to live. Speak with inspiration, not condemnation.

Be clear about why you are here. You are on the planet now both to learn as well as to help others learn.
