PROS AND CONS OF CARDS

Which cards do you have there?

Christine
I have quite a few. I do like these ones.

Shannon Walbran
Hold it still so that we can get a nice steady image of it. Daily Guidance from your Angels Oracle cards, a 44 card deck and guidebook by Doreen Virtue. Got it!

Christine
I don't have a huge selection.

Shannon Walbran
I've used those. What's another deck that you've used?

Christine
I quite like these.

Shannon Walbran
Okay, let's see. Colette Baron-Reid, The Enchanted Map. Stunning. Those are beautiful. These are the two that you've used the most?

Christine
Probably, yes.

Shannon Walbran
Now we're going to go into, "What are the pros and cons of using angel cards at all?" because there are pros, but there are cons too. There are many different tools that you can use. And I was just going through a list; the I Ching is another one. Do you know the I Ching?

Christine
I've never tried it myself. But I've had it done by a friend of mine. I don't know a lot about it.

Shannon Walbran
It's cool. It's a great divination tool also. What have you found are the benefits of using cards? I've written down what I think my benefits are and my downsides. What have you seen so far?

Christine
Of angel cards, Shannon?

Shannon Walbran
Of any angel cards, yes

Christine
I'll start with the negative - that's my nature - I find them overly positive. There's a false sense of security that everything's going to be okay, maybe it's not. I feel like I need more constructive negativity. Does that make sense? Maybe I'm a masochist!

Shannon Walbran
[Laughing] "I'm a negative person! I think I need more negativity! Okay!"

Christine
I'm not a negative person. I think I'm quite realistic. Maybe my my frame of reference is generally negative, I don't know. I find them overly positive, and maybe a little bit general. But the positives, as I said: I feel good. After I've used them, I feel like I'm going to be okay, I feel as you said, supported, I feel less responsible and more held.

Shannon Walbran
In the flow? Able to take small steps forward, as you said.

Christine
Yes. I feel like everything's going to be okay.

Shannon Walbran
The negatives that I have are: not very specific, too positive, and might seem repetitive. In each of those boxes, you only have 40 to 50 cards.

Christine
That sounds about right. I don't know about the repetition one, but the other two, definitely.

Shannon Walbran
The positives that I had written down were: they're very easy. They're right there. You don't have to call somebody, you can do it yourself. At any time. Another positive is they have both an image and words. The I Ching is only words. Bibliomancy is only words. Some of the other tools that we talked about are only words or only an image. A tool that I was talking about when you left the room was: you can flip a coin. When you flip a coin, you're actually asking, "Should I do this or not?" As the coin is in the air, you know how you want that to land.

You do.

The other pro that I have is: it can calm you down really quickly.

Christine
Definitely. And I get excited before doing them. They make me happy!

Shannon Walbran
You're feeling a connection to that love and support that's coming from inside of you and from the divine intelligence around you.
